FouFou Dog Love Your Breed Product Review & Giveaway

What makes me smile?
- all things pink
- sparkly stars
- the French language
- anything with rhinestones
- Yorkshire Terriers.

The above list is what I count on to make me happy when I am sad, it never fails and I have tried to group all those things together to create one big smile-maker.

Meet my pups, Bebe and Jolie, whose names in French mean "Baby" and "Pretty" They are my two Yorkshire Terriers who make me smile every single day. I do absolutely anything and everything for my dogs, they make me feel like the most important person in the world, and well, if I have a treat in my hand, I've now just become the center of their universe - surely you understand if you're a pet owner.

I came across foufou dog products last year while I was in Boston. I picked up the cutest barrettes with cupcakes on them and immediately purchased two. I noticed the tag line in the packaging that said "J'aime mon chien" which is French for "I love my dog". It made my purchase that much more special because of my love for the French language. I never did see the FouFou products again after leaving Boston, but came across it this year after starting my dog blog Prisky Paws. I was immediately overjoyed and saw that they had the most furtastic and pawsome website. I sent in an email asking if I would like to do a product review on the items purchased and instead received an email asking me if I would like to review their new Love Your Breed™ collection along with two holiday sweaters for my furbabies.

Umm, would I like to?!...
"I WOULD MOST CERTAINLY BE HONORED TO REVIEW YOUR PRODUCTS, I LOVE FOUFOU DOG!"

That response was soon followed by a jiggle wiggle butt dance in my office chair, a squeak (which I masked to my co-workers as saying I had just had a papercut) and a bruised knee. But hey, in the name of excitement it was all worth it.
My package from FouFou Dog came in 3 days, most impressive since I'm in the US and they are in Canada. Upon ripping it open with excitement, and actually getting a papercut for real this time, I pulled everything out of the box like I was a 5-year-old at Christmas. The crinkly plastic wrapping that everything came in was music to Bebe and Jolie's ears since they thought it was potato chips. So we were all wagging our tails in excitement.
We received:

- Reindeer Holiday Sweater
- Argyle Sweater
- Yorkshire Terrier pen
- Yorkshire Terrier luggage tag
- Yorkshire Terrier rhinestone sticker (my eyes twinkled)
- Yorkshire Terrier key cover
- Yorkshire Terrier key chain

The colors and quality of these items was amazing, the website shows some detail but I wanted to go ahead and show it to you in 3D:

Bebe has been sporting her sweater like a pro and Jolie looks as cute as an ornament and is ready for the holiday festivities, have a look:
Point your phone/web browser over to FouFou Dog and take a look at their pawsome collection of doggy wear, hair accessories, bedding, toys, and more!

Be sure to click on the Love Your Breed link to discover gifts that will make your eyes twinkle. As a Yorkie mommy I was overjoyed to see Yorkie products. I'm using what FouFou Dog sent to me, and it's like my pups are with me all day long. Signing my checks and receipts with my pen and having the key chain and key cap dangle on my leg while I'm stuck in traffic or driving home to see my furbabies.

Start out the new year in style with these wonderful gifts and products for your dog!

Pill Delivery Made Easy With FLAVOR-DOH!

Pill delivery made easy, yummy and fun!

A few weeks ago after having purchased a doggyloot deal from Flavor-Doh, I discovered this company's PAWSOME product called Flavor-Doh. Available in two flavors, chicken and liver, this stuff comes in a container tub. It has a peanut butter like consistency and not much is needed. The first time I tried Flavor-Doh my dogs came running in from the living room because of the smell. They than heard me shake their pill bottles and quickly ran back into the living room. After wrapping the pills up in the gooey goodness my dogs actually were begging for more! The Flavor-Doh masks the taste of ther medicine and my pups think it's a treat. How fun!

I especially LOVE that it's a healthy alternative to wrapping pills in cheese or peanut butter because this stuff is low calorie with very few ingredients and NO chemicals!

Ingredients: Flour, Vegetable Oil, Chicken, Vitamin E (Natural Antioxidant)

Take a look at Jolie being fussy and not wanting her medicine:

Bebe and Jolie Love Rotations Pet Food!

As a former vegan I know a thing or two about healthy and holistic nutrition. I know the benefits of fueling and feeding my body right and I expect to do the same thing with my pets. Pet foods with fillers, corn meal, and chemicals are the fast foods in the pet food aisle. Luckily, more and more manufacturers are making whole foods with no chemicals, steroids, or antiobiotics. This makes me ecstatic.

For years, I’ve been feeding Bebe and Jolie Wellness and Blue Ribbon dog food. They would eat it because there was no other choice I gave them since they have sensitive stomachs, and are both allergic to corn. However, they wouldn’t hide their snouts in the bowl and only come up for air or run towards me when I shook the bag and announced feeding time.

Well, that all changed when I discovered Rotations Pet Food. This company offers some really pawsome and realistic approaches to pet food, such as:
Variety and healthy rotating recipes! Do you eat the same thing everyday? NO… so why should your pet?

Lightning fast delivery to your doorstep. I received my orders in 2 days!

Delicious meat-first proteins such as USDA premium chicken, omega-rich wild salmon, or iron-rich New Zealand lamb.
Please take a moment and watch how happy Bebe and Jolie are with their new and yummy pet food and how they actually choose out the Rotations pet food.
If that video didn’t win you over then perhaps cost and convenience will? If you’re like me, when you take the drive to PetSmart or Petco you bring your pets with you. Who wants to be shopping with their pets and hauling away a 30lb bag along with a leash – NO THANKS! Getting it shipped to my door is soooooo convenient.
Let’s take a look at the other brands:
Rotations 27 lbs – $37.99 + $14.99 shipping = $52.99 (delivered to your door)
Wellness 26 lbs – $53.99 (…and you have to go get it!)
Innova 30 lbs – $54.99 (same price as Rotations but you have to go get it!)
Even some of the crappy food isn’t cheaper!
Rotations 15 lbs bag of Salmon or Lamb – $26.98 + $9.99 shipping = $36.98 (delivered to your door)
Rotations 15 lbs bag of Chicken – $24.98 + $9.99 = $34.98 (delivered to your door)
Eukanuba 14 lbs – $36.99 (Eukanuba contains corn, chicken by-product meal YUCK! basically the worst ingredients you can give your dog…and you have to go get it!)
I say you give Rotations Pet Food a try, you’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain, for example:
  1. A happy pet.
  2. Money and time! (Gas spent on driving to pet store, time it takes)
  3. Assurance that you’re pet is receiving the nutrition it deserves.

Click on the above coupon code to be redirected to the site. Be sure to enter the code for some totally pawsome savings! Rotations will let you try their super premium food for free! Order any 15 lb bag of food and you’ll only have to pay for shipping. I should mention that this generous offer is limited to one bag per household. Please come back and visit this site to post your photos, videos, and any reviews you may have!

Cartoon Your Pet!

As if anyone needed another reason to show off their pets right?

For a while now I’ve wanted to have my pets portrait drawn out. I wanted a canvas painting of them, and than I went to get a quote and realized it was several months of my mortgage so I declined. I than came across googling terms such as “cute cartoon dogs” and “cute yorkie cartoons”. Immediately I found the work of Kim Niles.

Kim Niles is the illlustrator for KiniArt which is just about the greatest illustration site ever! I reached out to her and she immediately recognized my love for my dogs Bebe and Jolie. (that love usually is very prevalent after a squeaky phone coversation or bouncy email) After about 80 messages to one another, we had the finished product, a pawsome masterpiece.

I loved working with Kim every step of the way. I’m a picky and difficult person to please but Kim made sure that I was happy. I especially loved the part where I had to describe my pets personality and their traits to her. My two dogs are very different from each other so I wanted a portrait that really showed that.

Kim was kind enough to make many changes in colors and adding toys. She also helped me with my website banner.

Towards the end I received the BEST surprise! Bebe and Jolie’s portrait, as an added bonus is featured online for purchase on things such as cell phone and ipad covers, clothing, and even coffee mugs!

You can view this pawsome coolness here

Overall I couldn’t be more pleased and more excited to see my little furballs in cartoon form. As if I couldn’t love them ANY more, I just found a way to.

A special thanks, hug, and wet nose kiss to you KIM!

I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream…Dress?!

Lately I’ve been ditching the collars on my dogs and embracing dresses and vests that come attached with a ring for your pet’s leash. I think it’s a brilliant idea and more and more companies are starting to incorporate a harness onto their clothing.

Take a look at this wonderful addition to my collection:

Here’s why I like it:

My dogs are so small and fragile as it is that I always cringed at the idea of pulling them on the leash from their collar. I would sometimes have to do this as their outfits did not permit to have a harness over it.
Safe, stylish and practical. I like that i can snap the leash on and off without having to search for the ring. It adds a nice touch to the outfit and has a safer feel. Dogs sometimes slip out of their collars. But with these outfits equipped with harnesses that are secured two ways, at the belly and at the neck.
No more tangled collars at the neck!

Check out Cha-Cha Couture, where they have a wonderful selection of harness dresses and vests and also where this Ice Cream dress is from! It was a limited edition, but there are other super cute styles!

Upon receiving the dress from Kim, Cha-Cha Couture’s owner, I was so pleased with it that I just knew I needed to set up a photo shoot. What better way to portray an ice cream dress than at an ice cream parlor?

Meet Ralph, owner of Vanilla Bean Creamery in Cranford, New Jersey. At Vanilla Bean the ice cream is freshly made and deliciously divine. They serve all sorts of goodies and are dog friendly with their outside eating area!
If you live in the area be sure to check them out, your taste buds will thank you!

DIY Inexpensive and Neat Pet Closet

So you have a small dog who you want to take outside in the snow but it’s too cold, so you find yourself buying a sweater for your furry friend.
Halloween rolls around and you want to purchase a costume for your pet.
Another birthday another seven doggy years to celebrate, we should probably pick up an outfit for that too.
Face it. We are all guilty of expanding our dogs wardrobe without even thinking.  Now if you’re ANYTHING like me, you have an addiction to matching outfits, theming parties and dressing up your dogs as if they were your dolls. Come to think of it, they’re just as cute! Hahaha.
Over the years I’ve spent a small fortune on dog apparel. Anywhere from crystal collars to cashmere sweaters to terry robes and furry parkas. You name it Bebe and Jolie probably have it.
When I tell people about their extensive wardrobe, they almost immediately call me crazy and tell me I’m wasting my money.  In my defense (and in yours too if you have been caught in this scenario) I say that unlike children dogs reach their adult weight and size by age one. So the amount of money I spend on an outfit for them can be divided by the years that they wear it as opposed to weeks and months that a child wears his/her clothes..
Voila, you have just caused that person to raise their eyebrow and soon enough you’re going to hear:
“You’re right and you’ve got a point”
Now…where do YOU store your pets apparel? For a while I used to store mine in drawers until I started getting tired and frustrated of looking through 60-something outfits. I looked online but nothing seemed big enough for my collection. Those that were big enough took up too much physical space.
I decided to get creative. While doing laundry I noticed that I had put several shower rods in my laundry room to create space to hang my delicates. Suddenly I had an idea..

I would purchase suspension rods, baby hangers (I later came to discover that they actually made pet hangers) and use my own pre-existing closet and make it my dogs pet closet.
I chose a small closet I have in my dining room. Nothing was ever put into there except mops and brooms, with about 4ft wide and 10ft in height to work with here’s the finished product!!

I hope you enjoyed this tip! Please send me photos if you also do this!

These are a few of my favorite bows…

My groomer told me that my dogs have more hair accessories than most little girls. I have to agree. I recently started collecting bows and theming outfits with them. At the moment I’m totally obsessed with Val’s Diva Bows They are sturdy and GORGEOUS. They are hand sewn and the attention to detail is amazing. Most of the bows purchased from Val are on the left.
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I’m feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don’t feel so bad!

Doggie Dental Issues / Gingivitis

If your dogs are anything like my two furballs they hate getting their teeth brushed. I chose the word hate but should really use despise.

Both my little princesses have gingivitis. Bebe has a more serious case of it and has already lost 7 teeth. Jolie also has it but no teeth have been removed.

I wish I knew 5 years ago what I know now. Basically what works, what doesn’t, what’s worth it and what’s out there to confuse you and empty out your wallet.

The two products I absolutely swear by are:
Vet Solutions Enzadent Oral Care Chews for Dogs

Leba III Dental Spray

After continued use the amount of reduced decay was quite significant. This made me very happy, I went from taking my dogs for a teeth cleaning, yo uknow the process that puts the dog under and they clean the teeth that way and cost a small fortune, to simply relying on these products.

My dogs eat organic dog food and sip filtered water. I make sure the treats they eat are healthy and don’t contain corn, but the fact of the matter is that things like gingivitis are sometimes hereditary, which was the case for Bebe and Jolie.

Here’s a video of just how much Bebe loves her chews, little does she know she’s brushing her teeth!

Easter Photo Shoot

If your like me and like to welcome the different seasons and holidays with decor around the house you will appreciate this post.

I spend more money than I should on my dogs. I ask my accountant every year if I can claim them on my taxes, and every year she laughs. Funny thing is that it’s NOT funny. I mean think about it. They have pet insurance, training school, clothing, grooming, feeding, and need to be registered with your town. Almost human right?!

Anyhow, I’m a recent fan of the Dollar Tree store. They’ve really stepped up their game. I actually don’t go anywhere else for holiday decorations, BBQ supplies, and all things party. So I was happy when I had the idea to have mini photo shoots at my house with my girls without breaking the bank.

Tips for a great photo:
  • Use a towel or a bed sheet as your back drop.
  • Glitter makes everything better, have that handy along with a handvac.
  • A squeaky toy/bag a chips to grab dogs attention while posing for camera.
Enjoy!
