I Scream, You Scream, We All Scream for Ice Cream…Dress?!

Image
Lately I’ve been ditching the collars on my dogs and embracing dresses and vests that come attached with a ring for your pet’s leash. I think it’s a brilliant idea and more and more companies are starting to incorporate a harness onto their clothing. Take a look at this wonderful addition to my collection: Here’s why I like it: My dogs are so small and fragile as it is that I always cringed at the idea of pulling them on the leash from their collar. I would sometimes have to do this as their outfits did not permit to have a harness over it. Safe, stylish and practical. I like that i can snap the leash on and off without having to search for the ring. It adds a nice touch to the outfit and has a safer feel. Dogs sometimes slip out of their collars. But with these outfits equipped with harnesses that are secured two ways, at the belly and at the neck. No more tangled collars at the neck! Check out Cha-Cha Couture , where they have a wonderful selection of harness dresse...

DIY Inexpensive and Neat Pet Closet

Image
So you have a small dog who you want to take outside in the snow but it’s too cold, so you find yourself buying a sweater for your furry friend. Halloween rolls around and you want to purchase a costume for your pet. Another birthday another seven doggy years to celebrate, we should probably pick up an outfit for that too. Face it. We are all guilty of expanding our dogs wardrobe without even thinking.  Now if you’re ANYTHING like me, you have an addiction to matching outfits, theming parties and dressing up your dogs as if they were your dolls. Come to think of it, they’re just as cute! Hahaha. Over the years I’ve spent a small fortune on dog apparel. Anywhere from crystal collars to cashmere sweaters to terry robes and furry parkas. You name it Bebe and Jolie probably have it. When I tell people about their extensive wardrobe, they almost immediately call me crazy and tell me I’m wasting my money.  In my defense (and in yours too if you have been caug...

These are a few of my favorite bows…

Image
My groomer told me that my dogs have more hair accessories than most little girls. I have to agree. I recently started collecting bows and theming outfits with them. At the moment I’m totally obsessed with Val’s Diva Bows They are sturdy and GORGEOUS. They are hand sewn and the attention to detail is amazing. Most of the bows purchased from Val are on the left. Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens Brown paper packages tied up with strings These are a few of my favorite things Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings These are a few of my favorite things Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes Silver white winters that melt into springs These are a few of my favorite things When the dog bites When the bee stings When I’m feeling sad I simply remember my favori...

Doggie Dental Issues / Gingivitis

Image
If your dogs are anything like my two furballs they hate getting their teeth brushed. I chose the word hate but should really use despise. Both my little princesses have gingivitis. Bebe has a more serious case of it and has already lost 7 teeth. Jolie also has it but no teeth have been removed. I wish I knew 5 years ago what I know now. Basically what works, what doesn’t, what’s worth it and what’s out there to confuse you and empty out your wallet. The two products I absolutely swear by are: Vet Solutions Enzadent Oral Care Chews for Dogs Leba III Dental Spray After continued use the amount of reduced decay was quite significant. This made me very happy, I went from taking my dogs for a teeth cleaning, yo uknow the process that puts the dog under and they clean the teeth that way and cost a small fortune, to simply relying on these products. My dogs eat organic dog food and sip filtered water. I make sure the treats they eat are healthy and don’t contain corn, but the fa...

Easter Photo Shoot

Image
If your like me and like to welcome the different seasons and holidays with decor around the house you will appreciate this post. I spend more money than I should on my dogs. I ask my accountant every year if I can claim them on my taxes, and every year she laughs. Funny thing is that it’s NOT funny. I mean think about it. They have pet insurance, training school, clothing, grooming, feeding, and need to be registered with your town. Almost human right?! Anyhow, I’m a recent fan of the Dollar Tree store. They’ve really stepped up their game. I actually don’t go anywhere else for holiday decorations, BBQ supplies, and all things party. So I was happy when I had the idea to have mini photo shoots at my house with my girls without breaking the bank. Tips for a great photo: Use a towel or a bed sheet as your back drop. Glitter makes everything better, have that handy along with a handvac. A squeaky toy/bag a chips to grab dogs attention while posing for camera. Enjoy! If your lik...
